Mobius Floop
LG flexible Oled Lights have been at every trade show I've been to since 2014

The actual light quality is pretty high for something which is paper thin and flexible.

I bought a pair of the light strips to play around with.
Design
The Mobius Floop was developed for the annual LG OLED lighting design competition. The theme for the competition was life, which I came at from 2 angles:
1. Life is movement - People feel most alive when movement is happening

2. Life is eternal - the impacts of our lives dissipate throughout time.
Manufacture
The design is formed of a single piece of steam bent timber, sourced from the FSC website.

The wires are inlaid into the wood body and connected to the 2 oled pannels which are held in place by a lip on the wood.
Design
The choice of shape is based on breaking rules of light design. At multiple points on the lamp, the light emitted intersects itself, however due to the high quality light this faux pas is overcome.
